Year 4

Latest News

Welcome to Year 4!

We are into full swing in the Autumn term now and I've been very impressed with how the Year 4s have settled in. Especially as we have moved classrooms and are now based on the 2nd floor. This term is always a fantastic time in school at Manorbrook with lots of different activities going on.

Curriculum Information

Our topic this term is Puzzles of the Pyramids. This is an exciting topic that involves the children learning about the Ancient Egyptians. We will look at everyday Egyptian life, the importance of the River Nile, how the pyramids were built, the chronology of the main historical events and of course, who could forget, the ancient ritual of mummification!

In science, we will focus on magnetism and force. The children will be making their own compasses, developing their scientific vocabulary and writing up formal scientific investigations where they measure the strength of different magnets and the affect of friction.

If you have expertise you could share with us linked to our learning we'd love to hear from you.
