Welcome to Year 3!
Term one has got off to a flying start with our new juniors settling in well to their new class and all the additional challenges that being a junior brings.
We are very proud of all of them and their incredibly hardworking attitude.
This term our topic title is 'Hunt or be hunted!' and our learning looks at the lifestyle of people around during Stone Age times. Our cave paintings that welcome you to our classroom are fantastic and depict just the kinds of scenes you would have come across at that time.
Usually homework will be set via MyMaths. Please let us know if you need a login reminder.
The homework has been selected to consolidate and practise skills already taught in class. There may be elements of challenge but it shouldn't be anything unfamiliar or cause stress at home.
Please let us know if there are any problems we can help with.
Remember to checkout at the end of your session.
Spellings and handwriting homework
We are working hard on developing our joined handwriting. Please complete the model handwriting sheet and then, for additional practice, write each of your spelling words at least three times into your handwriting book. As an additional challenge, you could also write a sentence, or sentences, showing us how to use the spelling words.
Please continue to read daily with your child and practise times-tables where possible. Remember to note all reading completed at home in the diary as we will reward those who achieve the 50 / 100 / 150 read mark.
We are very appreciative of all the support you give in all of these areas.
