Term 5 has been a short, but very busy term!

We would like to thank you again for continuing to support the children in the learning of their Phonics in order to become better readers and spellers.

Here is a reminder of some recommended resources:

You Tube: 'Mr Thorne does Phonics' offers support with sound pronunciation

http://www.phonicsplay.co.uk has interactive games the children can play which will support their reading and blending of real and pseudo words.

http://www.oxfordphonicschecksupport.co.uk generates practise screening tests where the children can show you what they have been preparing for in class.

We wish you all an enjoyable holiday and will look forward to seeing you again in Term 6.

Welcome back to a busy Term 4!

We have been back two weeks and already we have been on a trip to the SS Great Britain.  We could not believe how big she was!  The following day was World Book Day, where the children all came in dressed as a book character, or in their pyjamas ready for a bed-time story.

We have had another lovely Forest Schools session, have a look at some of the children in action.  We baked in the mud kitchen, collected and classified sticks and played 1,2,3, where are you...with Suzy Squirrel and Henry Hedgehog.

This term your child's reading book can be changed on a Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday by putting their book and Reading Record Book in the box in class.  We would still like the children to read their reading books at least twice before changing, please.

You will notice that the Reading Books now also have a coloured sticker.  This is to make it easier for the children to be independent in changing their own reading books.

Show and Tell will recommence on Wednesday afternoons from Week 3 of Term 6.  A list will be sent home at the end of Week 2.
