'Booktastic Bonanza' Week!
Focus Week - 13th - 17th June, 2016
West End Dance Group visit
All children will have the opportunity to take part in a workshop run by west end choreographers and dancers with the aim of bringing books and literature to life.
Key Stage 1 children will work on 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle, while Key Stage 2 will focus on the story of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' by Roald Dahl.
Several classes plan on visiting our local library. The trip is intended to remind us all what the library can offer - not just a wide range of exciting books but additionally a chance to find out how else it supports our local community.
Focus Week allows us to spend a week off the usual timetable and approach our learning in a different way.
Celebrating everything we love about books!
Our children really enjoy the opportunity to mix all the classes up and spend time learning alongside their friends from every other year group. An art themed mix up afternoon is planned for the Tuesday of Focus Week!
Booktastic Sports Event
A sporting afternoon with every event linked to the book theme! How many sporting activities can you come up with that have a book link? Miss Drayton has been busy planning some great events for us to take part in.
